FJC - gear sponsored 2019

Since 2014 we have been using the Xenith X2E helmet for our association. The X2E is highly rated with the Virginia Tech's concussion testing, but had some issues with the jaw pads that we were not happy with. In 2018 our Midgets were upgraded to the Riddell Speed Flex helmet. That was a considerable cost to our association, but much needed.

Fast forward to 2019...The board made the decision to purchase new Xenith Epic helmets for the up-coming season. Our goal is always to stay ahead of the curve with equipment and fit the athletes the best we can. The agreement to buy them outright versus a rental was the more sustainable path for the organization. That purchase alone left us with a reduced 2019 budget where shoulder pads, pants and jerseys would suffer. Our equipment manager, Danny Johnson, set out to fill this void. As a result he managed to pull enough money in to acquire new shoulder pads this year.
